Found in ‘Translation’

Here is the last stanza from Roy Fuller’s poem ‘Translation’. He wrote it more than half a century ago, but the sentiment seems uncannily relevant for an age of Trump, alt-right, and Brexit:

Anyone happy in this age and place
Is daft or corrupt. Better to abdicate
From a material and spiritual terrain
                         Fit only for barbarians.
